Terms in alphabetical order. Dashboard gives the Dutch label people see in the dashboard when it differs from the English term in code and in this documentation. Use it when you talk to editors and clients.
A
Access policy
The agency's per-client table of rights: for each client role, a level per area (website
content, statistics, brand, media, social, Studio, tools). Apps reuse it through area and
level. Dashboard: Toegang (under Instellingen). See
Declaring an app.
Agency
The reseller that manages clients: an agency, studio or freelancer. Its team opens every client of the agency; clients see the agency's white-label identity. Dashboard: Bureau. See Concepts.
App
A custom module for one client, built in that client's site repository, declared with
defineApp in cms.config.ts and shown framed in the client's dashboard. Dashboard: Apps.
See Apps overview.
App session
The short-lived signed session the dashboard hands an app's page: who opens it, for which
client and site, with which level. connectApp receives it in the browser; appSessionFrom and
appPlatform verify it on the server. See Server side.
Asset
An uploaded file (image, SVG, video, document) in the client's media library, with alt text, dimensions, focal point and a blur placeholder. Images need alt text to be publishable. Dashboard: Media. See Blocks and relations.
B
Block
An entry nested in a Matrix field (f.matrix): one piece of a page builder. Its type is the
handle of its entry type. Dashboard: Blok (Blok toevoegen adds one). See
Blocks and relations.
Brand kit
The client's colours, fonts, logos, voice and brand elements, made by people, never generated.
client.brand() delivers it to the site as --brand-* CSS variables and data. Dashboard:
Merk. See Brand kit and privacy data.
C
Cache legen
"Clear cache": the agency button under Website → Instellingen that empties every platform cache of a site and sends the site's webhook. See Caching.
CI token
A site API token with read + schema, for kwisple push in CI. Made with kwisple ci-token
or CI-token maken under Hosting & deploys → Geavanceerd. See
CI and automation.
CLI token
Your personal token (kwicli_…) from kwisple login, stored in
~/.config/kwisple/credentials.json. Used to link sites and make tokens, never to read content.
Dashboard: listed under Instellingen → Koppelingen. See CLI reference.
Consent configuration
The site's cookie banner: categories, services, texts and a version, generated by the platform
and returned by client.privacy(). Dashboard: Cookies & privacy. See
Statistics and consent.
Content model
The sections, entry types, fields, global sets, forms and apps of a site, declared in
cms.config.ts. Dashboard: Contentmodel. See Schema as code.
D
Delivery API
The REST API on the platform's web app (/api/v1/*) that sites read content from, with a
bearer token. See Delivery API.
Destructive change
A model change after which existing content may stop showing: a removed or retyped field or
section, a changed translation. kwisple push refuses it (exit code 2) without --force.
Content is never deleted. See Workflow.
Development model
The copy of your model that kwisple dev keeps in sync, read only by your own dev server.
Dashboard: Ontwikkelmodel (kwisple dev). See Workflow.
Draft
An editor's unpublished changes, autosaved per person. Publishing applies it and makes a revision. Dashboard: Concept.
E
Entry
One piece of content in a section: a page, an article, a service. Dashboard: usually pagina. See Concepts.
Entry type
The field layout of an entry or a block, declared with defineEntryType. Dashboard: the
entry type's name is shown as its Soort (kind) when a section allows several. See
Schema as code.
Environment
Whether a custom-code site is the production site or its staging environment. See
Staging.
F
Field
One value on an entry, built with an f helper (f.plainText, f.assets, …). Dashboard:
Veld. See Fields reference.
Form
A form your site renders and submits with client.submitForm, optionally declared with
defineForm. Submissions land in the inbox. Dashboard: Formulieren. See
Forms, bookings and confirmations.
G
Global set
Site-wide values outside sections: contact details, footer, opening hours. Declared with
defineGlobalSet, read with client.globals(). Dashboard: Info op elke pagina.
H
Handle
The code name of a section, entry type, field, global set, form or app (newsArticle,
heroHeading). Dashboard: Handle (shown to the agency only).
Hosted site
A legacy block site rendered by the platform with the standard model. Never offered for new sites. Dashboard: Gehoste site (blokken). See What Kwisple is.
L
Live model
The latest pushed version of the content model, used by editors and your deployments. See Workflow.
Locale
A language of a site (nl, fr, en). The default locale is unprefixed in URLs, others are
under /<locale>/. Dashboard: taal. See Localisation and URIs.
M
MCP connector
A connection that lets your own AI tool (Claude Code, Claude Desktop or another MCP client) read the platform and make proposals, with exactly your rights. Dashboard: Koppelingen. See MCP connectors and OAuth.
Mode
How a site is built: headless (custom code in its own repository, the only mode for new
sites), hosted (legacy blocks) or external (built elsewhere; the platform keeps its URL).
Dashboard: Soort site, with Op maat (eigen code) and Gehoste site (blokken).
Model check
The SDK's comparison of your code's model hash with the platform's, when you pass schema to
the client. See Workflow.
P
Preview
Live preview: the dashboard shows the site in a frame with the editor's draft, through the
site's /api/preview route and a short-lived preview token. Dashboard: Preview-URL (the
setting), Voorbeeldweergave (the badge on the site). See
Live preview and revalidation.
Proposal
Something the assistant or an MCP connector suggests: a text change, a post idea, alt texts. A person takes it over or ignores it; AI never publishes, schedules or approves. Dashboard: Voorstel via assistent.
R
Redirect
A rule that sends an old path to a new one. Created automatically when a live entry's URI changes, or by hand. Dashboard: Doorverwijzingen. See Rendering content.
Request
A wish from a client to the agency, as a conversation with a status (open, busy, done). Code suggestions from the Websitecheck reach the agency this way. Dashboard: Verzoeken.
Revalidation
Purging a site's cached content after a change: the platform POSTs a signed webhook with cache
tags to the site's /api/revalidate. See Caching.
Revision
A snapshot made on every publish; an older one can be loaded into a draft and published again. Dashboard: Vorige versies.
S
Schema version
One applied production push of the content model, numbered per site (cms_schema).
Dashboard: Versies on the Contentmodel card.
Scope
What a site API token may do: read (Lezen (gepubliceerd)), preview
(Preview (concepten)), schema (Contentmodel pushen). Dashboard: Rechten. See
Environment variables and tokens.
Section
A container of entries with a URI format: single (Eén pagina), channel (Lijst) or
structure (Boom). Declared with defineSection. See
Schema as code.
Site
A website of a client, with a mode, locales, domains and an online/offline state. Dashboard: Website.
Site kit
A site's starting content as one JSON file (cms/seed.json), written with kwisple seed and
made with kwisple export. See Site kits: seed and export.
Slot
Something only one submission of a form may claim, such as a booking moment
(2026-11-03T10:00). Dashboard: Moment. See Forms.
Staging
A custom-code site's test environment: a separate site with its own content, token and deployment of the staging branch, behind a password. Dashboard: Staging for the agency, Testversie for clients. See Staging.
Submission
What a visitor sent through a form, with a follow-up status and, for enquiries, an outcome. Dashboard: bericht.
T
Token
A site API token (kwi_…) that authenticates the SDK against the delivery API. Shown once when
made. Dashboard: API-tokens. See Environment variables and tokens.
W
Wacht op jou
"Waiting for you": the dashboard's list of things a person should act on now, such as a request whose last message came from the other side.
Webhook
Two kinds. The revalidation webhook goes to your site after every publish, signed with
x-kwisple-signature (dashboard: Webhook bij publiceren, Webhook-geheim). Outgoing
webhooks send platform events (form.submitted, lead.updated, page.published, …) to
other systems (dashboard: Webhooks). See Caching and
Outgoing webhooks.
Websitecheck
The assistant's monthly review of a site's statistics and texts. Text suggestions become proposals; code suggestions go to the agency as requests when the client asks for them. Dashboard: Websitecheck.
Workspace
One client and everything it owns: sites, content, media, brand, posts. Every tenant row carries
its workspace_id. Dashboard and CLI: Klant. See
Tenancy and permissions.
